
Zoom-Out Foundations introduces Zoom-Out and covers the core principles and skills.
This training is provided in several modules, each delivered in an online group workshop format of 2 hours.
Zoom-Out is concerned with perspectives – how we view the world, others and ourselves
To Zoom-Out is to step back from a current or default perspective and find the most helpful perspective by seeing the bigger picture, broader context or alternative perspectives.
The Zoom-Out premise is:
- “At times we can hold a narrow or limiting perspective that is unhelpful to ourselves and others”
The Zoom-Out motto is:
- “Zoom-Out to find the most helpful perspective”
Module 01: “Planet Zoom”
This modules serves as an introduction to the Zoom-Out concept and premise.
After this module, the objectives are that you will be able to:
- Explain how perspectives influence our wellbeing and performance
- Explain the interplay between events and perspectives
- Recognise narrow / convergent perspectives (Zoomed-In)
- Recognise broad / divergent perspectives (Zoomed-Out)
- Recognise when you may be unhelpfully Zoomed-In
- Describe the Zoom-Out premise and motto
- Apply the Zoom-Out approach
Module 02: “The Doors of Perspective”
Building on “Planet Zoom” (module 01) this module explores how Zoom-Outs act as “doors” to new perspectives.
Zoom-Out cards are leveraged in much more detail as are the different Zoom-Out Dimensions.
After this module, the objectives are that you will be able to:
- Explain how Zoom-Outs act as “doors” to new perspectives
- Utilise various Zoom-Outs as a “doorway” to a wider range of more helpful perspectives
- Apply helpful Zoom-Outs to common challenging and limiting situations
- Utilise some predefined Zoom-OutsĀ (and associated cards)
Module 03: “Zoom-Out for Resilience & Agility”
This foundations module explores how cultivating a Zoom-Out mindset can lead to greater mental resilience and personal agility.
